Dine@Mine

Leicester’s Dine@Mine project began during national Islam Awareness Week 3 years ago, and has become an annual interfaith event. Society members work with local restaurants and businesses, whose cooperation helps make it a success.

A special evening is organised at a restaurant and people are encouraged to buy a ticket for a friend and bring them along. During the evening, an auction is held, thanks to the generosity of local businesses who donate items, normally raising £1,000 on the night. The money raised is sent to the local charity Rainbows, a hospice for children and young people, as well as to international aid agencies.

Dine@Mine has donated over £1,500 to Rainbows and a similar amount to relief agencies, and seen plenty of laughter with good food and company.

The next Dine2Mine event will take place on Wednesday 30th November. To find out more, send an email to: leicester@isb.org.uk
