All monies raised will benefit local, national and international charitable causes:

Locally Nominated Charity

This is for local organisations wishing to distribute part of their money to a local cause, like a school or hospital. For example, last year money was raised for Rainbows Children's Hospice in Leicester and Christies Hospital in Manchester, where much-needed medical equipment was sought.

The rest of the funds sent to Fasting to Remember will go to the following registered charities:

Prince's Trust (Registered charity no: 1079675)

The Prince's Trust is a national charity that helps young people to develop confidence, learn new skills and get into work. It will receive 10% of all nationally raised funds.

Cancer Research UK
(Registered Charity no: 1089464)

The vision of Cancer Research UK is to conquer cancer through world Class research. It will receive 20% of all nationally raised funds.


Target 2015

Target 2015 is an initiative of the Department for International Development run in partnership with registered charities. It aims to halve world poverty by 2015. Two projects for sustainable long-term benefit will be supported: The Water & Sanitation Project run by Islamic Relief (UK Registered Charity, no. 328158) and the Healthcare Programme run by Muslim Aid (UK Registered Charity, no. 295224). Each will receive 35%of the nationally raised funds.
