Tajweed

This will be taught in Courses 1 and 2.

A practical course teaching proper pronunciation and reading of the Qu'ran.

Allah (swt) says in the Qur'an, "And recite the Qur'an with Tarteel (in a slow pleasant tone and style)." (73:4) The Prophet Muhammad (saw) has said, "Indeed Allah desires that the Qur'an be recited in the manner in which it was revealed." When asked about the meaning of Tarteel, Ali (ra) replied, "It means that the Qur'an should be recited with Tajweed and with due observance to the rules of Waqf (pausing or stopping at the end of the verse)."

The participants will be divided into two groups according to their knowledge. The foundation group will use the text ‘Graded steps in Qur’an reading’. The second group will be taught in smaller groups by an experienced teacher.
