Moonwalkers Youth Group is a local club for children aged 5
to 10. It began life in 2007 after an auction dinner … where £1,000 was raised
for it. The group that meets every Friday afternoon at a local hall in Knighton
is so popular that now there is a waiting list of children wanting to join.

Children at Moonwalkers enjoy a varied ‘curriculum’ of
prayer, arts and crafts, cookery, drama, trips, visitors and discussion, making
learning about Islam fun. Every year, Moonwalkers support a different charity
and try to hold a fundraising event that involves the local community.
Charities that have been supported include Comic Relief and Blue Peter’s ‘Send
a Smile’. The end of each year is celebrated with the annual End of Year
Performance and prize giving where families, friends and relatives come to see
the children perform plays, sing songs and give speeches about what they have
done that year at Moonwalkers.
