Leadership Retreat and AMM

Dear brothers and sisters

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullah

I would like to take this opportunity to extend my warmest greetings and prayers for you and your family. May Allah bless you, envelop you with His Light, shower you with His Mercy and protect you with His Might and Grace.

I would like to extend this year’s AMM to all our current members, former members, sympathizer and friends and those who may have benefited from our programmes without ever formally joining the organisation.

We plan to collectively discuss the future of Islamic Society of Britain as part of a wider consultation. In particular its direction and priorities. At a time when the nature of Islamic work in the UK has changed dramatically and diverse forms of groups, methodologies and institutions are competing for the hearts and minds of the Muslims, we need to explore some key issues.

A distinguished panel will be invited to offer their views and ideas. Guests will be confirmed soon.

During the day we will also review for approval, a substantial reform of how the ISB operates. In an environment where there is so much focus on the governance of Muslim organisations, we have needed to propose significant changes to our byelaws to bring us in keeping with best practice and to establish a solid foundation for our branches.

Once again, I would like to thank you for all your ongoing support and du’s and I am really looking forward to seeing you all soon.

Warmest wishes

Ajmal Masroor
Chair, Islamic Society of Britain
