National School Competition

The Islam in Schools ‘Peace’ Competition Rules:1)    Competition is open to young people aged between 7 – 18 years, and living in Great Britain on the closing date of 7th December 2012.2)    Each child is invited to submit up to two entries in total (poem or picture) on the theme of ‘peace’. What brings you peace or makes you think of peace? What kinds of things show us peace? Where do you go for peace?3)    Entries will be judged in 3 separate categories (KS2, KS3, KS4/5).4)    On the reverse of each entry, the entrants name, school (if applicable), age of entrant and year group should be specified clearly.

5)    A cover letter should also be included, listing entrants name, correspondence address and email of a suitable parent/guardian/teacher/school.

6)    Entries must be on A4 or A3 paper. Poems should be written up clearly, typed or word-processed.

7)    All entries must be original, the entrant’s own work, and must not have been published, on a website or broadcast.

8)    Regretfully due to administration issues we are unable to return or acknowledge all entries; for this reason entrants should ensure that they keep a copy of their poem or picture.

9)    The copyright of each poem/picture remains with the author/artist. However, entrants of winning entries, by entering the competition grant the organisers of the Islam In Schools Competition the right to publish and/or broadcast and/or use the winning entry in promotional displays.

10) All entries must be received by Friday 7th December

11) Winners will be informed by post, as well as listed on the Islam in Schools website.
