Romeo & Juliet

As-salamu alaykum,

Following on from a very successful first conference, the ISB Campus team are very excited to inform you about the second ISB Campus Residential on 3-5th March 2017 at Kingswood Activity Centre, Doncaster.

The theme of ‘Marriage’ has been chosen by our team of young campus representatives.
Finding love and a spouse can be confusing terrain for young Muslims. Have traditional roles and responsibilities talks been off putting? How much can we see each other? What are the cultural expectations and the religious edicts? Am I allowed to date?
To this end we will have workshops on getting to know yourself, what qualities to look for in a future partner, the do’s and dont’s of getting to know one another, marriage, consent, intimacy, compassion, the secrets of a successful marriage and when things go wrong. Our speakers will include Ajmal Masroor and Dilwar Hussain.

We will have high adrenaline activities at the centre such as zip wire and high wire along with team building exercises, a bonfire and the wonderful opportunities for reflections, Dhikr and reminders!

ISB Campus is for all 18-25 year olds, whether working or students, carers or apprentices. Our residentials are a chance for young people to get together in a warm and spiritually uplifting environment to seek answers to current theological and contemporary issue. Confidence building, socialising and friendships all go hand in hand!
Feedback from attendees has been extremely positive so far because we have together created a space where it is safe to question, discuss and debate and where we can grow and learn together.

We have a Facebook group called ‘ISB Campus’ by which we keep in touch and hope to post videos by academics, scholars and activists soon. So get in touch!

Kingswood Activity Centre has excellent motorway access and is a few minutes walk from Conisbrough train station.

Please feel free to spread the word.
